Opus 1300

Classic, 1950s-60s-style, hip-length, long-sleeved, raglan cardigan with crew neck. Knitted flat from the top down, with a textured, beaded diamond pattern around bottom half of body and ends of sleeves. Cuff and hem ribbing with contrast edge, and traditional buttoned front.
Sizes: Two women’s sizes: 36in/91.5cm; 38in/96.5cm bust.
Requirements
- Yarn: 500-800g any DK yarn. Scraps of contrast DK yarn for edging.
Needles: 80 cm circular needle in both sizes; pair of straight needles in 4mm size:
- Metric: 3.25mm and 4mm; UK and Canadian: size 10 and 8; US: size 3 and 6
Notions:
- 4 stitch markers (or make markers from knotted loops of contrast yarn)
- Row Counter; 2 elastic bands; 2 large stitch holders or 2 pieces of contrast yarn
- Buttons: 9 buttons approx 0.75in/20mm diameter (swatch buttonholes to check button size before purchasing)
- Beads: 500 Matsuno glass rocailles or seed beads size 6/0.
- Steel crochet hook size 0.75 or 0.9mm, for applying beads
Gauge
- 22 sts = 4in/10cm, or 5.5 st = 1in/2.5cm, in st st on 4mm needles
